We took Venus’ mission to make every woman feel comfortable in her own skin to the hottest beach of Summer 2020. By hacking Animal Crossing New Horizon’s clothing design tool, we gave players the opportunity to customize their avatars in a whole new way that authentically celebrates their skin.
THE RESULTS
Yeah, we got the numbers and earned media. Woo-hoo. But the real win for us was the genuine reactions we received from the gaming community (a group notorious for hating any sort of brand interference with their territory).
An even bigger win was an official blessing from the Nintendo folks. (You’ll have to take my word for that since they would never go on public record and state it.)
